KCC Group Values
Our mission is to empower kinship caregivers in their roles by providing resources, education, and peer connections to support their well-being and help their families thrive.
KCC started at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, since June 2020. It is the first online statewide support group for kinship caregivers in Ohio. We provide opportunities for both learning and peer connections through open discussion meetings and informational presentations with community experts on topics relevant to kinship care.
The crocus flower is the first to bloom in the winter, representing the resiliency of kinship families to grow and find beauty in challenging times. The rising sun is a sign of hope- together we continue to rise and enrich ourselves and our families. The bud represents community together and providing care for the next generation.

OhioKAN is a flexible and responsive kinship and adoption navigator program designed to support children, youth and their families. Building on the premise that families are inherently capable of finding solutions to the circumstances and challenges they face, the OhioKAN program will take an inclusive, engaging, and genuine approach to strengthening families and their networks.
